Stephen Dorrell and healthcare leaders come together for major NHS debate

CHS Healthcare chairman Stephen Fletcher has organised a landmark debate on the future of the NHS with panellists including Stephen Dorrell MP.

The former Secretary of State for Health and chair of the Commons Health Select Committee will be joined on a panel with Sir Andrew Cash, Professor Lis Paice and Dr Richard Newland for a Question Time style NHS debate.

“With such depth of experience and expertise, it will be an opportunity for thoughtful, authoritative and wide-ranging debate about challenges facing the NHS and future direction,” said Mr Fletcher.

“The panel are all leading figures within their field and also represent a broad spectrum of perspectives, from Government, NHS leadership, medicine and private providers.”

The debate will be chaired by Mike Farrar, former Chief Executive of the NHS Confederation who spent decades at director level within the NHS.

Professor Lis Paice is Chair of north-west London Integrated Care Management Board and led the development of the Hospital at Night model for the Modernisation Agency.

Dr Richard Newland has a background as a GP and is the founder of CHS Healthcare, specialising in continuing care and integration between acute and social care services.

Sir Andrew Cash is Chief Executive of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and an authority on integration and Better Care.

The event is taking place at De Vere, Holborn Bars, London on February 4th. It is a Leaders’ Club (please link to http://www.theleadersclub.org/) event, a network of senior figures working in healthcare, public sector, business and third sector to reflect on experiences and connect together.
